Honours Student
I recently completed my undergraduate degree in Biodiversity and Ecology, with a focal area in Climate Change Ecology, at Stellenbosch University. I am currently pursuing my Honours degree in the CLIME lab at Stellenbosch as well. My research interests lie in understanding how climate change and increasing temperature extremes affect organisms at a physiological level.
My honours project focuses on how thermal stress impacts male reproductive traits in the Asian lady beetle. I examine how exposure to high temperatures affects both sperm viability and sperm count, as well as how exposure during development influences sperm later in life. This gives insight into how increasing temperatures and heatwaves may affect reproduction under changing environmental conditions.
